BEACH PARK — Just in time for the start of the school year, Our Lady of Humility School will be awarded $2,500 for the school’s creativity in creating a 90-second video for an online contest.
Our Lady of Humility School was one of 26 schools around the country that will share $80,000 in cash prizes from Big Lots, a closeout retailer based in Columbus, Ohio.
Between May 5 and June 21, schools were asked to create a short video and write a brief paragraph explaining why their school deserved the $10,000 grand prize. The public was then invited to vote online for the winners.
Big Lots will also give teachers with valid school identification an extra 10 percent off savings on their back to school shopping on Saturday.
