Hey everyone!!
I want to thank everyone for the kind words about our OLH-FSA website. I also want to assure those out there who have given critiques that I can take it. This is not “MY” website, but your website. You the Parents can help shape this beast.
How can you do it? How about becoming active in our OLH-FSA!! Our next meeting is on Saturday November 15th @ 10:00 AM in the OLH School Library. We could sure use some more parents to help our organization. I have been attending for the last year, and so far I am the only “GUY” who shows up with regularity.
This is not to say that the Dad’s don’t help out with the school functions, they do as is evident by the parade, our sports teams, the Boy Scouts etc. But it would sure be good to have another “Male” voice in some of these meetings as well to give ideas and suggestions. If anything I can argue with you about football or Baseball. (I am just getting into Hockey, I am from CA, not a real Hockey State!).
So hope to see you on November 15th!!
So on to the news!!
The OLH School BookFair is this week!! We set it up on Tuesday, (Thanks Parents who showed to help with the setup! The Library looks great!) and it continues to this Sunday the 19th of October.
By now your kids should have brought a list home of what they would like to purchase, Here are a couple of the books that were recommended by the “Scholastic” rep that helped with the setup. I will post the pictures in Grade order, I.e youngest kids books to oldest.
Pinkalicious, (More for Girls) grades K-3
Skippy Jones, “Mummy Trouble” Grades K-3
“39 Clues” Grades 4-7. Book and Trading Cards, This Clues can be found online in a online safe environment. Kids can share in the exploration of the story. This series will be 10 books long to be published during the next 2 years. It explores history. Kids can interact with each other online during the exploration.
“Found” Grades 6-8. Not much info on this book, other then that it is a book a lot of kids have asked for.
Well that’s it for the book fair, remember it concludes on Sunday. What does this mean? It means on Monday Mrs. Steffen will need some assistance putting everything back together again in the library. Can you spare a hand? I Will post a update as to the time and date. (pretty sure it is on Monday though!)
Last but not least, the Pizza day forms went out this week for the 4th of November. These have to be turned in by the 23rd of October!! Please Click the form below and it will open up to the whole thing, Print it and fill it out, send it with your kids! Remember Pizza Day is Hosted by the OLH-FSA!
Well that’s it for this week!! I will be updating on Monday, or if Mr. Browne or our FSA group has any new news.
Remember you can email the officers with questions or our Catchall email over on the right:
———-> Just hit the OLH Contacts link!!
Until then stay warm, cold, warm, cold…. It’s that time of year!!

Hi Darrell-
I finally got the chance to see your website. I liked what you did with the Book Fair. The pictures of the books that were reccommended by the rep were cool. I wish we had that flexability with our school website. It takes too long to post anything.
Thanks for your support.
