Hello everyone, Happy Belated 2009!!
Ahem….
I apologize for the lack of news on the OLH-FSA site. I could give you all the excuses I have rolled up, but suffice it to say, I am sure we are all in this submarine together. It all went to pot the day before the Christmas Parties in 2008.
Can you believe the winter this year??
“WOW”!!
I am a guy who was born and raised in the California Bay, and Sierra Nevada Area. I lived in the Sierra’s for about 10 years of my juvenile life. I thought I had seen snow and cold up there… Nope.. you guys have it in spades here.. YEOW!!!!

Zion Weather 4 Feb 2009 @ 1209 AM
Anyways, I retired to Zion, because of the small town atmosphere, as well as the weather.. you all have 4 seasons here.. In CA.. (Bay Area, where I moved from) we had Spring, and Summer.. no fall nor winter.. ) I wanted the traditional White X-mas, the frosty nose etc.. What I got this year was a case of a “FROSTBITE NOSE”..
The Main Reason I retired here with my family though was a fell in love with the OLH School. My oldest daughter (MIkayla 9 years old, Mrs, Skarbek’s Class 4th Grade) came to OLH when she started 1st Grade. She had attended Beulah Park School for kindergarten. While we loved the teacher for Kindergarten, we could tell that she nor our other 2 children would receive the nurturing care/education that we wanted. What really opened our eyes though was when 2 students at Beulah were taken from this earth on the Mothers Day weekend in 2005. It was a heart wrenching experience as a parent.
That sealed the deal for us, and the rest is history. All 3 of my children attend Our Lady of Humility. I now have them in 4th, 2nd and Kindergarten. It was the best descision I made and it is really the reason I retired to Zion. The family at OLH School.
Why do I bring this up??
Well I know that all of you parents out there are sending your most valuable assets to OLH because you want the best for them. Lets face it, we don’t like paying taxes twice.. House taxes and then tuition, but we want the best for our kids. I can tell you, for me it is worth it and I would pay double for what I get from Mr. Browne and the rest of the faculty at OLH.
So you love the school like I do, you want to support it like I do. How doing so by coming to one of our OLH-FSA meetings? How about taking on a OLH-FSA Officer position? We have the following retiring from Positions they have held for 2 years:
President, Vice President, Treasurer, I am your secretary for the group and have been so for the year. I have been nominated for VP, but honestly, I would “NOT” mind if we got fresh blood in our group.
“HINT” HEY GUYS!!! I AM THE ONLY GUY IN THE GROUP!!! WHERE ARE YOU????
Anyways, Long story, but I wanted to get accross why I love our school and would do anything for it as I am sure you would as well. So help us the OLH-FSA, if not for a Officer position, how about attending a few meetings, giving us your voice, and strength.
It will only make us stronger.
Thanks!
Darrell Crone
OLH-FSA Secretary
